Good question. The image was orgininally part of an artists book I made. It went along with text. I think one needs to read and see the entire artists book. I'd share it, but I lost the text and all but two of the photos when my external hard drive crashed.
How would you suggest I put more emotion into it? Or more like what would you do if you had the same model and mood again.
You can easily change emotion by use of body language. For instance, with this facial expression, you could use a head tilt and it would give the model the look of "blaming". You know like when a parent tells off a child. Or you could ask the model to rest their head on their hand and you would get a grumpy kind of look. You've already got the art, but just a slight movement can change the whole feel of the picture. You know?
I actually don't see so much lack of emotion as and apprehensive look... The position of her arms and shoulders suggest a bit of attitude but then her chin is pulled inward, like she's shy. I would suggest her lifting a head a bit so you could get a better focus on her eyes. That said, I like the composition of this, the lighting is really nice.
Ooh, one more thing before I end this long comment of mine: I'd like to see the background darkened a little so that she presents a better contrast against it.
Anyways, hope this helps

Devious Comments
The lighting and focus and everything is beautiful, but I just don't feel it.
